Do clean mascaras work as well? We’ll discuss below with the Battle of the Clean Mascaras (part 1).

One misconception I had when switching to clean and/or safer beauty, was that the products wouldn’t work as well as conventional products. Let me tell you how wrong that thinking was! I have found so many clean products that I not only love, but that work just as well (or better depending on category), and are safer choices. So, how do clean mascaras measure up?

Mascara is a necessity when doing makeup, unless you are blessed with exceptionally long lashes or have eyelash extensions! Today I will do a part 1 of how clean mascaras measure up. I will review the 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lengthening Mascara, Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara & Primer, and the Lily Lolo Vegan Mascara. I will also tell you how they score on the ThinkDirty app (app you should have when wanting to see products’ ingredients and safety; I swear by this) and the EWG Healthy Living App if available.

Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara & Primer

This was the first mascara I tried when I made the switch to safer products. I continue to use this because it is effective and works really well. I am a sucker for lash primer so that was a win. But looking at how it measures up, it gives me the length I need to look like I have eyelashes 🙂 It doesn’t feel heavy nor does it weigh my lashes down. This mascara scores a 3 on the ThinkDirty App as well as a 3 on the EWG Healthy Living. It costs about $15 USD.

Lily lolo vegan mascara

This mascara gives me the length and definition I like. I love that it feels light, my lashes never feel weighed down and it doesn’t get clumpy. It has become a go-to mascara for me and I am impressed with the results I get. It’s the one I’ve been using the most lately. This mascara scores a 3 in the ThinkDirty App. It costs about $20 USD.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lengthening Mascara

This mascara is the best smelling mascara I’ve ever own! I have it in the color Dark Chocolate and let me tell you…you’ll be sniffing it every time! They use natural pigment from black tea, berries and cocoa and I love this brand’s products. It feels lightweight and definitely gives me good length. It scores a 0 on the ThinkDirty App so it truly is a clean product! It costs $26 USD.

If you are more of a visual person who prefers videos, watch below or click here for a video of each and how they compare to each other. I also tell you which I’d consider my favorite! I do plan to do a better quality video in the future.
